Mesa’s high-purity quartz filters abide by the EPA’s Compendium Method IO-2.1, Section 6.2. Quartz filters are ideal for withstanding high temperatures while maintaining a high collection efficiency. Mesa offers quartz filters in both 47mm and 37mm diameter options.

Because the EPA Louvered PM10 inlet has been field and laboratory proven for both PM10 particle aspiration and internal impactor cut point of 10 micrometers, EPA made a request to Mesa to produce the louvered section of the inlet, minus the PM10 internal impactor.

Inlet Sampling Extension Down Tubes

The 12 inch Inlet extension tube was mandated by EPA to avoid potential bluff body effect from the interaction between the louvered inlet and the enclosure or roof of a sampling device. It also assists in raising the inlet portal to the required 2 meters off the ground. A longer 19.5 inch extension is useful with the shorter TSP sampling inlet.

The 37 mm plastic cassette has long been the standard for a variety of aerosol sampling applications. The Slaton Cassette offers a useful, reusable alternative. The cassette (filter holder) is fabricated from lightweight aluminum turnings and finished in electroless nickel plate to eliminate corrosion and preserve conductivity. The internal taper of the 37mm plastic cassette has been matched to permit the use of this cassette on our line of cyclones.

Teflon PTFE filters include a hydro-inert support ring which lowers moisture fluctuations during sampling and analysis. Or choose our 37mm high-purity Quartz filters for personal sampling needs. Mesa’s environmental sampler filters have been engineered by metrologists to meet even the most stringent gravimetric analyses with high accuracy.

All filters are pre-marked with a 2D machine-readable data matrix code serial number for ease of sample organization and analysis. Whether choosing from quartz or Teflon filters, all packages include 50 filters, split into two plastic storage containers, with 25 filters each.
